Update: On
3/14/11 Ron plans to receive an evaluation at the Immune Recovery Centers
of America in
Atlanta, GA. On 2/11/11, Ron received a Pulmonary Intra-Arterial Chemotherapy Infusion of 3-bromopyrnuvate in Gulf
Shores, AL. On 1/4/11, Ron went to the Burzynski Clinic in Houston Texas where he received evaluation
and treatment. He is continuing these treatments at his home in North Carolina. Next, Ron will
receive a PET CT Scan in late March to determine the results of 3-bromopyrnuvate. He contiunues to take many
alternative treatments and keeps a good attitude.
In September 2009, Ron LaSalle noticed a lump on his neck and within a week, was unfortunately
diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer. Besides the lump, Ron experienced no other symptoms. Within
three weeks he began chemotherapy treatments at the Valdese Cancer Center in Valdese, NC.
In November of 2009 after receiving three rounds of chemotherapy, a CT scan revealed that his cancer continued to grow. With this information, Ron decided to stop chemo and seek alternative treatments.

Ron is President
& Chief Executive Officer of Burke Hospice and Palliative Care in Valdese, NC. Born in Northern New York State,
Ron served in the U.S. Army where he was a member of the 1984 Culinary Olympic Team. After a seven year career in food
service management, Ron changed career paths and became a registered nurse. After working on a medical surgical floor
at a hospital for two years, he worked as a Registered Nurse Case Manager for Hospice of Jefferson County, in Watertown NY.
In June 2000, Ron was named Executive Director of Hope Hospice and Palliative Care in Medford, WI. While in this
role, he served on the Board of Directors of Hospice Organization and Palliative Experts of Wisconsin, and was a member of
Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs.
Ron relocated
to Burke County in December 2002, with his son Ronny. He plays an active role in the community through his involvement
in Morganton Kiwanis and Valdese Rotary Club. He volunteers at Burke County United Way, and Good Samaritan Clinic.
Ron serves on the safe schools task force at the Burke Public Schools and is the past chair of the Burke County
Chamber of Commerce, as well as the pawt president of his Kiwanis Club. He is a member of the Burke County NAACP and
the Waldensian Presbyterian Church. In 2004, Ron founded the National Hospice
Consulting Group, LLC, which he served as the President & CEO.
A nationally
known and respected hospice and palliative care leader, Ron earned his national certification as a Hospice and Palliative
Care Administrator in 2008. In his spare time, he enjoys his rescue work with the Irish Terrier Club of America, riding
his motorcycle and tinkering with his alternative fuel vehicles.
