My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart
from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all
their flesh.
Proverbs 4:20-22
Don’t let cancer get you down. God is with you and wants to heal you. Daily devotions, prayers,
the Word of God and a positive attitude will give a tremendous advantage in your fight with cancer.
Forgive
everyone you harbor ill feelings towards, including yourself. Love yourself and fill your heart with God’s love.
Refuse to hate anyone, but instead focus only on love. Each morning, day and night look in the mirror and tell yourself
that you forgive yourself and love yourself. Don’t allow the enemy’s curse to enter you. Choose to
forgive no matter what anyone does.
Remember
the story of the children of Israel making their way to the promise land and how they got so discouraged because they were
looking at the natural hardships of their journey instead of focusing of how God got them out of Egypt? When they got
to the Red Sea and could go no further, God parted it for them. When the Egyptian Army tried to pursue them, God closed
the Sea and the Army was destroyed. When the Israelites came to the waters of Marah where the water was bitter, God
had miraculously purified it for them. God led them to the pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night.
He gave them fresh manna from Heaven every night and even gave them water from a rock. And for the entire forty years
of wondering through the desert, their shoes and clothing never wore out. But despite all of these things, they became
discouraged because they looked at the way. I think we have all done this at times, I know I have.
Since
I was diagnosed with terminal cancer at such a young age, I never once said, "Oh God, BOO-HOO, I have it so hard and I
feel so bad. How can you do this to me?" No way, not once! Instead, I looked back at my life and remembered
how God has helped me and how much more He wants to do for me. No, I do not like having cancer or the pain, fear and
discomfort that often comes along with it, but I am very grateful to God for this journey. With good friends and a spirit
filled with God's love, I cannot ask for any better medicine. You can never go wrong when you walk with God!
